Welcome to Sixth Grade ELA!

Welcome to my blog! I will use this blog to post news, upcoming quizzes and tests, and information about what we are currently learning. I will also add links to websites that I recommend. Check weekly for new blogs!

Reading:

We will begin a new unit in reading this week. During the next six weeks, we will focus on narrative elements (setting, characters, plot), making inferences, and how to compare and contrast. Your child should read for 20 minutes each night. This would be a good time to take turns reading with your child and to discuss the book being read. Talk about the conflict in the story and make predictions prior to reading the next chapter.

News:

There will be no school for students next Monday and Tuesday.
